Mark Workun, drums

 

Mark was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta.  By the age of 8, he had his first snare drum, and continued to pursue his musical talent throughout his school years, attending Alberta College percussion ensemble, and taking private lessons with John McCormick.  After high school, Mark enrolled in the Grant MacEwan music program, which ultimately led to a full time career in music.  Over the next 25 years, Mark would go on to play in various reggae, rock, and country bands including recording artists K.C. Jones.  In 2008, Mark started the country rock band, West of the Fifth, and in 2015 joined the band 9 Second Ride.  He was honored to be asked to play in the ODBB in 2017.
